Georgia Roof Pro, a local roofing company from Georgia with many years of professional experience, has decided to raise the awareness about various local issues through promoting the non-profit and non-governmental organizations. Through the years, we have been working with many different clients, so we learned a lot about many different troubles that many of those organizations have been facing with.
This time, we would like to present the Drawing to the Rock Ministries, a non-profit organization whose goal is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through the creative arts. We would like to thank everyone who took some time to read this interview and, of course, to the Organization for such a lovely talk.
Introduction: To begin with, we would like you to briefly tell us about your organization
Drawing to the Rock Ministries, Inc. exists to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through the creative arts. This is done through live performance art, studio art, and through it’s service to metro Atlanta artists with our program called New Creation Arts.
- What do you do exactly?
And what was the reason that encouraged you to start this organization?
As an artist, I fully realize the impact of art in touching the hearts of individuals. Art can change lives. Art is a natural expression of my life and faith. Through my drawing, painting, sculpture, and performance art, I have always tried to explore creativity in unique and powerful ways. It is my desire that all who view my art will be filled with joy and examine their own spirituality.
- What motivates you?
Describe your mission passion
Expressing my faith through my creativity in order to lead others to examine their own personal spirituality is my passion. Engaging in conversation with others about my art and bringing deep thought, joy, and even laughter. My live performances are such a joy to present as I lead others in “visual worship.”
- Tell us about your goals
My immediate goals are to continue to perform in front of audiences and to see our new program, New Creation Arts, grow and help local artists flourish.
- What was the hardest/toughest moment you had to deal with?
Obstacles you faced when dealing with bureaucracy, permits, funding, etc. Something you would like to point out to anyone who might be starting their own organization.
Dealing with all the legal issues in creating our 501c3 and maintaining good standing is not my forte. I just want to create art!
- What was the most fulfilling moment that happened to you?
The most fulfilling moment in my ministry came when my best friend’s daughter realized her need for a relationship with Jesus Christ when I painted the face of Jesus. She accepted Jesus as her savior that night after my presentation.
- What separates you from the rest? Why you?
There are not many ministries out there with a burden to serve local artists and see them be successful. I have that calling upon my life.
- Do you have any upcoming events in the forthcoming months?
In December 2017 we will host an Christmas themed art exhibit and hold a fundraising gala for a local dance company. In 2018 I have many bookings for my live art. At New Creation Arts we will feature a different artist every month.
- What is it that you love most about what you do?
What I love most about what I do is being able to stay true to myself and use the gifts God has given me for His glory.
- What is the biggest challenge you’re faced with today?
My biggest challenge is funding.
- Anything else you would like to add?
I also do live art for corporate events that are not religious in nature.
