Handberry Creative – Local Business Interview
Handberry Creative is a boutique marketing, public relations and events agency which helps companies and individuals to strengthen tell their stories.
Georgia Roof Pro, an excellent roofing contractor from Gwinnett County, GA, would like to share their story in the following interview.
- Company name and what do you do exactly? Full Company name
Handberry Creative is a boutique marketing, public relations and events agency which helps companies and individuals to strengthen and tell their stories.
- When did you start?
I started freelancing and working on projects about two years ago. I recently took the leap and went full-time with my business in July of this year.
- Why did you start? Tell us about your goals
I have always had a passion in creativity and coming up with unique strategies for businesses. I wanted to take what I learned in school and working with larger brands to help smaller businesses and entrepreneurs get the same great results.
- What motivates you? Describe your mission passion
Paying my monthly student loans, hahaha! While making sure I am earning enough to survive is important, the source of my motivation comes from my family. I come from a line of creative and passionate individuals, whom many of which sacrificed their dreams of entrepreneurship so that I could have an education and opportunity to fulfill dreams of my own.
- What was the most fulfilling moment that happened to you?
What is it that you love most about what you do?
The most fulfilling moment thus far still remains to my full-time launch on July 1st. So many people supported my business and I had so many inquiries and request come in day one that I had to turn offers down!
- What was the hardest/toughest moment you had to deal with?
Obstacles you faced when dealing with bureaucracy, permits, funding, etc. Something you would like to point out to anyone who might be starting their own organization.
Honestly, building up the courage and confidence to go full-time was the hardest moment. It’s easy to get comfortable and you have a sense of security when you are on a set payment schedule from an employer. Knowing that I would be sacrificing that safety net was hard to overcome, because bills and other life obligations don’t stop. However, I had to realize that there was never going to be a “perfect time” to get started. Right now it’s student loans and getting married, then it’s a home and kids. Life is not going to stop and wait for us, so we have to pull up our sleeves and get ready to grind if we really want to reach our goals.
- What separates you from the rest? Why you?
I think my hustle, drive, and bravery has set me apart and gotten me to this point in my business. I am 26, planning a wedding, and have student loans to pay back. No one would expect me to start a business full time right now. However like I mentioned before, I realized that there is no time like the present to run for your dreams full speed. There have been days where I haven’t slept, functions I’ve had to miss, and a lot of figuring things out on my own because the funds weren’t there for professional help. Even though it was difficult, I would do it allover again because the hard work is absolutely paying off.
- Are you involved in local community, and if yes, how?
- Where do you see your business in 5 years?
In five years I hope to have multiple offices in different cities with a team of consultants in various departments able to provide all inclusive support to business owners from accounting, to web design, to business structure and marketing.
